Easy German
Easy German is one of my favorite websites for learning German. There approach is based on authentic language provided e.g. by street interviews on various topics of different levels. They are located in Berlin where most of the videos are made. If you become a member, you can also profit from an extensive array of exercises.
Deutsche Welle supports learning German as part of their mission. Their department “Educational Programs” creates multimedial material for all levels (as defined by the EU ‘Europäischer Referenzrahmen’). For teachers and language trainers, all content is free to use and integrate into your classes. DW is a great webpage for every level of German learning. It provides a mix of audio, video, imagery and text from the very beginner level to advanced. To tell the truth, you don’t really need much more. Go there and explore.
If you are a complete beginner, do all the 100 lessons under Deutschtrainer . Do as much as you can fit into your everyday routines as possible. As much as I believe in the more the better – after all, children developing their first languages do nothing else all day – a little regularly will carry you a long way. It will just take a little longer, but you will get there. You won’t get anywhere if you do nothing 😉 (Links also above in ‘black area’)
