Talking about yourself (A1)

Here the very basics of first encounters: How to introduce yourself, and, depending on the situation, first questions to get to know each other further. As in all cultures, what is okay to ask and what might be too personal varies. Asking where someone lives, when they came to Germany, where they work, what they like doing, or what kind of things they generally like will most likely be okay for all.

You find example dialogues on the internet you can listen to. I recommend Easy German or DW German for Beginners .

With Easy German videos, just enter what you would like to hear, in this case ‘Introduce yourself in German’. But there is loads more. The team from Easy German is committed to teaching German for free. Here they introduce themselves: Easy German – YouTube

For active practice, I recommend flashcard sets. You will find links to my own in my posts. You might have to register before you can use them if you are not a member in one of my classes.
